Legal Informational Centre for NGOs Slovenia – PIC is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, active on the fields of protection of human rights, strengthening the role of non-governmental organisations and alternative dispute resolution, established in 1997.
The mission of PIC is to provide professional legal support to individuals, vulnerable groups and NGOs in exerting and protecting their rights and reinforcing their position within the society. We realize our mission mostly by active involvement in policy forming and decision-making processes, building partnerships, offering free legal aid, informing and educating etc.
We work on national and international level. Our activities in the NGO part are aimed at contributing to improve the situation of non-governmental organisations in Slovenia. We conduct projects with the intention of connecting Slovenian NGOs and contributing to a stronger role for NGOs and other interested bodies in decision-making process. With legal initiatives we want to enable better working conditions for non-governmental organisations. In recent years we have carried out some systematic monitoring and crucial research of the Slovene NGO sector, its situation and role in Slovenia.
